About Knead Bagels

Knead Bagels is a bakery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Love Knead! This is mine and my fiancé’s favorite bagel place in the city. Sammies are always the best & the staff are super sweet.

Got a sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The aioli sounded good but I opted not to get it. Bagel was soft and fresh. House made sausage was incredible. Highly recommend!

Cute place and nice environment, but the bagels here are really subpar. Perhaps being spoiled by NY/NJ bagels really made my pallet refined for a better bagel. We got the lox on an everything bagel and a plain bagel with cream cheese. Both were extremely salty. As if we just had salt cream cheese. The plain bagel with cream cheese was inedible and had to be discarded. The lox was mediocre, salty, and did not have much depth to it for $13. The bagel itself was fairly small and a little too crunchy for my liking. Not much density to it either so depending on your appetite, you might still be hungry after.

Knead Knead After 3 mornings in a row of getting Knead Bagels bagels, I can proudly state that this establishment is top tier Their bagels are exceptional, affordable, and their service is quick and accurate. They also have a great morning special- coffee and a bagel combo for under 7 bucks! In this day and age?! Wow! *Note I ordered online/to go I have yet to enjoy a dine in experience. Today is Morning #3. I just ate the best bagel I've ever tasted. Dark Toasted with a regular amount of roasted veggie cream cheese. Everything bagel is usually my go to, but I've been intoduced to a new spiced bagel through them, the Togarashi. I've got it 3 mornings in a row. Their dark toast is excellent. The bagel's crust offers just a slight crunch - not stale, not hard, - you bite into soft and warm bread and a great serving portion of your selected cream cheese. I will say- Remember they're a bagel shop not a coffee shop. Their bagels are delicious!!!!!!!! Give it a whirl!

Bagels were good, not excellent, denser than the bagels I like and smaller than most. I do appreciate some varieties that are unique, and the staff was very nice with recommendations. However the price was just expensive for what we got. I ordered a bacon egg cheese sandwich and a egg cheese soychorizo which for 2 sandwiches cost over $25 before tip.
